Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the implementation of a new minimum wage of N70,000 for all workers in the state.

The wage increase, effective December 2024, will apply to employees in the state, local government, and local education authority sectors.

“This decision follows extensive negotiations and careful financial planning, reflecting our commitment to supporting the workforce while maintaining fiscal responsibility,” Governor Radda stated.

He urged civil servants to reciprocate the gesture by enhancing their productivity, integrity, and dedication to public service.

Governor Radda also commended the resilience of the state’s workforce, describing the wage adjustment as more than a financial boost but a recognition of their pivotal role in Katsina’s development.

The Governor reiterated his administration’s dedication to meaningful economic reforms and capacity building, in alignment with the Building Your Future Blueprint.
