In a chilling conclusion to a harrowing case, 35-year-old Mohammed Noor Iidow has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape and manslaughter of Natalie Patricia Shotter, whose life was brutally cut short in Southall.
Iidow, of St Paul’s Close, Hounslow, stood before the Old Bailey on Friday, 13 December, as the court delivered a minimum sentence of ten years and eight months—a grim testament to the gravity of his crimes.
The sentencing marks the end of a painstaking investigation by the Metropolitan Police, led by Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley of Specialist Crime South.
“No punishment can undo the unimaginable pain endured by Natalie’s family,” DCI Jolley stated.
“This was a heinous and incomprehensible crime. Iidow preyed upon a vulnerable woman and left her to die. His actions were appalling, and justice has now been served.”
The tragic sequence of events began on 17 July 2021, when a passer-by discovered Natalie lifeless on a bench in Southall Park at dawn. Declared dead at the scene, her death sparked a meticulous investigation.
CCTV footage from that night revealed Iidow prowling around the park, repeatedly circling Natalie before launching his horrific assault. After raping her multiple times, he abandoned her on the bench and drove home.
Iidow was arrested on 4 August 2021 at his Hounslow residence. Over two years later, following a three-week trial, he was found guilty on 18 October 2024 of both manslaughter and rape.
Natalie’s tragic death has left an indelible mark on her loved ones and the Southall community. While Iidow faces a long sentence, the shadow of his crimes continues to haunt those affected.
