At the Constituency Office in Ikorodu, where he personally joined the exercise, Senator Abiru emphasised the initiative’s core essence: love, compassion, and inclusivity.

In a display of generosity and festive spirit, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, lit up the season by distributing over 10,000 food packs to households across the district.

This remarkable outreach, held on Monday, spanned the 16 LGAs and LCDAs, spreading joy and relief to constituents ahead of the end-of-year and New Year celebrations.

The simultaneous distribution unfolded across five major local government areas—Ikorodu, Kosofe, Somolu, Epe, and Ibeju-Lekki—creating a ripple of gratitude and festivity.

At the Constituency Office in Ikorodu, where he personally joined the exercise, Senator Abiru emphasised the initiative’s core essence: love, compassion, and inclusivity.

“This event reflects our shared values and unwavering commitment to uplifting our people during these challenging times,” Senator Abiru stated.

“In line with my mantra, Greater Good to the Larger Number, we ensure no one is left behind this festive season,” he added.

The food packs reached a wide array of beneficiaries, transcending religious, political, and social lines. Christians and Muslims, under the banners of CAN and the League of Imams and Alfas, alongside party members, youths, students, artisans, women, and the aged, were among the recipients.

The distribution also included persons living with disabilities and randomly selected constituents, ensuring an inclusive process that fostered harmony across the district.

“This gesture also aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s call for all elected officials to bring comfort and relief to the vulnerable in these economically trying times,” Senator Abiru added, referencing the administration’s bold reforms like the removal of fuel subsidies and exchange rate convergence.

The event drew a constellation of dignitaries, including Lagos APC State Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, former Lagos Deputy Governor Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, and GAC members Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun and Senator Anthony Adefuye. Religious leaders, market leaders, and party stalwarts also graced the occasion, all praising Senator Abiru’s visionary leadership and impactful interventions.

In their goodwill messages, the party leaders lauded Senator Abiru for setting a high standard of representation, demonstrating compassion and prioritising the welfare of those most in need.

As the food packs brought smiles to thousands, the event served as a testament to the power of unity, generosity, and purposeful leadership—a true celebration of the festive season and the shared humanity that binds Lagos East together.
