This prestigious ceremony, which took place on Monday evening in Marrakech, Morocco, witnessed Chiamaka Nnadozie clinching the coveted Goalkeeper of the Year award for the second consecutive year, following an utterly impressive 2024 campaign.

She clinched the award despite strong competition from Tabitha Chawinga, Themwa Chawinga, and Jermaine Seoposenwe.

Throughout 28 games, Nnadozie demonstrated unwavering excellence, maintaining an impressive ten clean sheets – a testament to her exceptional prowess between the posts.

Furthermore, Nigeria’s illustrious Super Falcons were crowned the Women’s National Team of the Year, a distinction that has undoubtedly filled the hearts of Nigerians with immense pride.

Atiku Abubakar, in his remarks, extolled Chiamaka Nnadozie’s remarkable talent, asserting that she has unequivocally established herself as one of the most reliable and skilled goalkeepers amongst women in the beautiful game of football.

Additionally, Atiku emphasized that the Super Falcons’ triumph has brought immense joy and pride to Nigerians, as they have emerged as the best National Team of the Year.

“By winning the 2024 CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award, Chiamaka Nnadozie has confirmed that she is one of the safest pairs of hands amongst women in the beautiful game. She had clinched the award in 2023. The Super Falcons should also take a most deserved bow for winning the Women’s National Team of the Year. Congratulations, you’ve truly made us proud as Nigerians,” the former VP stated.
