Afrobeats Queen, Tiwa Savage, never fails to surprise her numerous fans. She has over the years since she hogged the limelight with the release of her debut single “Kele Kele Love”, etched herself in the consciousness of music buffs as the queen of surprises.
If the Isale Eko-born, London trained singer is not releasing his after hit, she is wowing her fans with designer wears and risque baffs that leave little to the imagination.
If she is not on a yacht cruising with friends, she is busy triggering rumours about relationships that never was or she is alleged to be involved in. Yet she neither confirms nor debunk those rumoured relationships.
Still, the interesting thing about this string of surprises is that she is not limited by location. She does it as she goes. She spring those surprises wherever she is at the moment, whether home or abroad
At the moment Tiwa is not in the country, but she has sprung another surprise by gifting her fans who are able to sing the lyrics of her latest single, “Mega Money Mega”, cash, ranging from one million naira almost on a daily basis on Instagram Live.
If she is not gifting them herself, she invites her friends to do so on her behalf. Recently Bobrisky gifted one of Tiwa”s fans one million naira on Instagram Live.
Still, the height of the surprises Tiwa has sprung so far is her leaked Video that was released in October 2022, which set the Internet on fire.
That video, which controversial OAP Daddy Freeze famously described as “10 powerful seconds”, continues to elicit interests and comments, what with the heightened sense of pleasure Tiwa displayed in that brief, flash-in- the pan video.
Still , the brevity of that video notwithstanding, the interests, comments, and ripples it generated have come to stay in the consciousness of many across the globe.
Despite the fact that Tiwa herself downplayed the novelty and power of that video in “Loaded”, her song with Asake, that video continues to be a reference point.
Yet Tiwa’s recent revelations about her love life make many wonder whether it is another way to diminish the strength of the video and the many relationships she has been involved in over the years.
However, Tiwa’s recent comments have revealed so many shocking things about her love life. Recently while speaking on the Receipts podcast, hosted by Tolly T and Audre, the “Number One African Bad Girl” said, among other things, that she has never experienced orgasm. “I don’t think I’ve ever had an orgasm, and I don’t even have sex toys,’’ she said.
Shocking as that revelation may seem, many fans are asking questions. They also believe that it is a let-in on Tiwa’s love life. They are also wondering whether it is credulous that she didn’t experience orgasm in that video that shook the Internet in 2022, given the heightened sense of pleasure she displayed in that video.
If Tiwa did not experience orgasm in that video, what could be the cause? Or put in another way, when will she? Is it that she is a hard nut to crack, when it comes to intimacy or she hasn’t found her soulmate, someone that can trigger that orgasmic feelings by mere touch.
Tiwa sings about herself. Her songs reveal so much about her love life. .Most of her songs, including “Kele Kele Love”, “Somebody’s Son”, “Love Lova”, to mention a few, reveal a lady who has been hurt by love.
The later may not be far from the truth. As Tiwa also confessed in that podcast, she has been a victim of love. She says she is not the bad girl, as many erroneously think she is or as she portrays herself. She said she was the one being hurt in relationships rather than the one hurting others. She also said she was not a sex freak.
“It’s not natural for women to have multiple men, but a man can be really into you and still have a one-night stand with another woman. Before I met my ex, I went four years without sex. I don’t even have these sex toys. I am not a sexual person. I don’t think about sex if I am not in a relationship.”
She added that she had never left a man on account of infidelity. According to her she has never never cheated on her partners, rather every man she has been with has cheated on her
“I have been cheated on before. I found out and forgave every time. Every man I have ever been with has cheated, and I’ve never left them because of it. I’ve left for other reasons, but not because they cheated. Cheating is not my hill.
“What hurts is the lies about it though. Maybe other people had known, and then I kind of felt stupid about it, or they’d known for a long time, or if it’s close to home. The disrespect of it is why I could leave, but the actual act of it? I’ve never left a man because of it.
“I’ve left for so many other reasons, such as drug abuse, emotional abuse, being ghosted, stealing, and financial things. But that cheating thing? Nah.”
These revelations aside portraying Tiwa in a new light also show that she has truly not been fulfilled as far as her love life is concerned. She is a lady in search of true love, in search of fulfillment, which, according to her, is hard to find in tempestuous waters filled with sharks.
Little wonder she hasn’t settled down or finds it difficult to settle down. Despite all the stars she was romantically linked with in the past, none of those relationships was fulfilling. And also her current financial status doesn’t help matters, as she once quoted as saying her future partner must be richer than her.
Her financial status notwithstanding, many believe her recent confessions, juxtaposed with that video of 2022 reveal so many shocking things about her love life, that she is not a bad girl, as many thinks she is, that she has not found satisfaction in intimacy, that she is the one being cheated on, that she doesn’t use sex toys.
When these different parts of hers are sewn together, what one gets in the end is not a patch but a lady that does not freak about intimacy because it has failed her. But ironically, is the one whose heart has been broken many times. That is why she has found it difficult to find true love and is still searching, as she sings in her hit, “Somebody’s Son”.
Recall that she also recently said women hit on her more than men. “I do not know why, but a lot more women hit on me more than men. I do not know why.”
Somebody’s son will indeed find her someday, a guy who can turn not just her head but also her heart and trigger the kind of orgasmic feelings that she has never had or that that leaked Video couldn’t trigger.
