Nigerian singer Portable has publicly accused his former lover, Queen Dami, of hindering his chances of winning a Grammy Award.
During a live chat with media personality Daddy Freeze, Portable revealed that the struggles he has faced in his career were caused by his ex-lover.
The Zazu Zeh hitmaker explained that he had turned to Ifa, a traditional Yoruba spiritual system, for guidance in overcoming his challenges.
Speaking in Yoruba, he shared that he had made offerings to Aje, the goddess of wealth, and prayed to Ifa for advice on how to move forward in his career.
Portable claimed that the advice he received was to remove any negative influences in his life, particularly from people who may be hindering his progress.
He stated, “I gave food to Aje and I prayed to Ifa, and I was told to say that anything blocking my way, whether it’s a woman or man that I accommodated that is not letting me progress, let them depart from me, so that they don’t remove my battery.”
He went on to claim that Queen Dami, whom he believes has caused many of his setbacks, is one of the reasons he has not won a Grammy.
“Can’t you see that girl has run away? She has gone with her problems. She’s one of the reasons I have not won a Grammy Award. Assuming she wasn’t in my life, I would have won a Grammy,” Portable added.
