The authorities of the Kuje Custodial Centre have released the immediate past Governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello after he has met the bail conditions imposed on him by set the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja.

The PUNCH reports that the release of Bello was confirmed by the spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service, FCT Command, Adamu Duza, on Friday evening.

“Yahaya Bello has been released after meeting the bail conditions. He was released this evening (Friday).”

“The Controller of NCoS FCT, Ajibogun Olatubosun, was on the ground to ensure his smooth release and that all protocols were observed, ” Duza said.

Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has been released from Kuje Custodial Centre after meeting the bail conditions set by the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja.

This was confirmed by the spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service, FCT Command, Adamu Duza, to PUNCH Online on Friday evening.

Bello was granted bail on Thursday in the sum of N500m by Justice MaryAnne Anenih before whom he is being prosecuted for an alleged N110bn fraud.

Justice Anenih  had earlier on December 10 refused to grant the bail application filed by Bello as she ruled that it was premature and incompetent as he filed it when he had not yet surrendered himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
