Tinubu: Justice Argungu’s death a great loss to the Nation

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of retired Supreme Court Justice Uthman Muhammad Argungu, describing his death as a significant loss to both the nation and himself personally.

Justice Argungu, who passed away at the age of 90, was laid to rest on Sunday in his hometown, Argungu, Kebbi State, in accordance with Islamic rites.

President Tinubu paid tribute to the late jurist, honouring his dedication to humanity and Nigeria, as well as his unwavering commitment to justice.

Tinubu recalled Justice Argungu’s early career as a teacher in the old Sokoto Province, his call to the bar in 1965, and his rise to the Supreme Court in 1993.

Justice Argungu’s influence extended beyond Nigeria, including his role as a visiting justice of the Supreme Court of the Gambia, further cementing his legacy as a distinguished jurist.

President Tinubu offered prayers for the repose of Justice Argungu’s soul and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the government, and the people of Kebbi State.
