Renowned Nollywood actor Gabriel Afolayan has stirred conversation online with his thought-provoking critique of the popular saying about waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel.
Taking to his Instagram page, Afolayan shared striking photos of himself alongside a profound message urging people to reconsider the adage.
According to the actor, the idea of waiting for light at the end of a tunnel is flawed when it is possible to have light throughout the journey.
“Stepping away from metaphor, light at the end of the tunnel? Why do I need light at the end of the tunnel? No, get that light inside the tunnel,” he stated. Afolayan emphasized the importance of finding joy and illumination during the process of hard work, rather than postponing fulfillment until the journey’s conclusion.
He further argued that not all tunnels have light at the end, urging individuals to focus on creating light for themselves throughout their endeavors. “Let there be light (enjoyment) through the process (tunnel/work) of getting to the end of the tunnel,” he added, calling for a shift in mindset.
