Christmas: Mbah calls for love, peace, unity

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has called on Christians to uphold the values of love, peace, and unity as they commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the governor emphasized that these virtues are the core essence of Christmas and are crucial for fostering peaceful coexistence and nation-building.

Mbah acknowledged the economic challenges facing Nigeria and urged citizens to extend kindness and support to those in need. He reassured the public that his administration’s policies are designed to bring economic relief and restoration.

“The message of Christmas speaks to the exigencies of every moment. It enjoins us to show love and empathy to all,” Mbah said. “When we imbibe the true message of Christmas – love, peace, and unity – we will see no divisions, but a common thread of humanity.”

The governor also highlighted the end-of-year festivities as a time for personal reflection and a renewed commitment to peace, patriotism, and love.

“I pray that the joy of Christmas be a source of comfort for those who grieve and an eternal flame that lights our path as a nation,” he added.
