Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has called on public officeholders to use the yuletide season as an opportunity to spread love and kindness, particularly towards the less privileged in their communities.
In a Christmas message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Monday Uzor, on Tuesday, the governor emphasized that the season should be characterized by generosity and compassion.
“This is a season of joy, reflection, and gratitude, a time to come together as families, friends, and communities to celebrate the hope and love that this special time of the year represents,” Governor Nwifuru stated. He urged citizens to embody the true spirit of the season by uplifting one another and promoting goodwill across the state.
Nwifuru further reminded residents of the significance of the Christmas season, referencing the birth of Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as a time to reflect on the power of giving, compassion, and unity.
The governor also expressed his gratitude to the people of Ebonyi for their resilience and support in driving the state’s progress. “As we look back on the year, I am filled with pride and gratitude for the resilience and strength of our people. Despite the challenges we may face, your dedication, hard work, and unwavering spirit make our state a better place for everyone,” he said.
He assured residents that his administration would continue to implement policies and projects aimed at improving their well-being. “It is my fervent wish and prayers that this Christmas will bring peace, happiness, and hope to you and your loved ones,” Nwifuru concluded.
