Damola Olatunji under fire over proposal to mystery woman

Nollywood actor Damola Olatunji has stirred a backlash from fans and followers after sharing a proposal video on his Instagram page.

In the video, the father of two is seen proposing to a mystery woman, captioning the post with, “And she said Yes,” accompanied by love emojis.

While the actor appeared excited about the new chapter in his personal life, the proposal video has not been well received by many of his fans.

Critics took to the comments section to express their disapproval, accusing him of abandoning the mother of his children.

Several followers questioned his decision to propose to another woman, with comments like:

Some fans, however, speculated that the video might be part of a movie project, with one writing, “Na movie joor,” while others expressed disbelief, asking for clarification.

The controversy follows Damola’s separation from actress Bukola Arugba, the mother of his twins, in May 2023.

Bukola had issued a public statement through her solicitors announcing the end of their relationship. Despite public perception, the pair were never legally married.

In response to the separation, Damola shared carefree posts on his social media, describing himself as a “grace carrier” and a man “without worries.”

In a July interview, the actor dismissed rumours about his personal life, including allegations of leaving his house or marriage.

He stressed the importance of walking away from relationships that no longer work, rather than resorting to violence.

In November, Damola stirred another buzz when fans questioned if he was the father of his colleague Dayo Amusa’s child after being seen at the child’s naming ceremony. The actor confirmed the claim,
