The Police have said they will launch a full-scale investigation into the claim of Sen. Usman Lawal (PDP Kaduna-Central) that he escaped an assassination attempt by some thugs in a yet- to-be-identified location in Kaduna North on Wednesday..

The spokesperson for the Kaduna Police Command DSP Mansir Hassan, in a statement on Thursday said the state commissioner of Police (CP), Mr Muhammad Rabiu, ordered a full-scale investigation into the alleged assassination attempt despite the fact that the Senator Lawal has not reported the incident to the police.

Hassan, in the statement said while the police learnt about the assassination attempt on the social media, every effort made to contact the Senator have been unfruitful.

He said, “The alleged assassination attempt on Sen. Usman Lawal is unknown to the Police.

“The attention of the command has been drawn to a publication on the Facebook handle of Sen. Lawal Usman.
