Chelsea’s struggles continued as they played out a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, extending their winless run to four consecutive games.

The visitors started brightly, taking the lead in the 14th minute through Cole Palmer. The midfielder calmly converted a well-placed pass from Jadon Sancho, showcasing precision and composure in front of goal.

Chelsea maintained control during the first half but missed several opportunities to extend their lead, with Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez coming close.

Crystal Palace fought back in the second half, capitalising on Chelsea’s inability to close out the game. Jean-Philippe Mateta levelled the score in the 82nd minute after a clever assist from Eberechi Eze.

Mateta’s tap-in ensured the Eagles salvaged a point from a match that could have slipped away.

The final minutes of the game saw intense pressure from both sides. Maxence Lacroix’s late long-range effort tested Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, who made a crucial save to keep the Blues from conceding a second goal.

Despite additional time, neither team could break the deadlock, and referee Tim Robinson’s whistle confirmed the stalemate.

Chelsea’s inability to secure a win raises questions about their current form and effectiveness in front of goal.
