Ogun West Senator, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has said it is too early to him to start talking over rumors that he is planning to contest for the governorship of Ogun State in 2027.

The senator, who is better known as Yayi while speaking with newsmen at Pillion villa in Ilaro town after church service during his new year Thanksgiving service said time will tell if he was going to contest for governorship or he return as senator of Ogun West for second term in th 2027 general election.

Adeola, who thanked all the people of Ogun West for electing him as their senator promised more infrastructure and more good things in the senatorial district.

He declared that Ogun West will continue to be envy of other districts in the state in terms of the development projects he will attract to the district.

“2025 will be another exciting year, our people should be expecting good things as far as I remain the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District in terms developmental projects, in terms of empowering the people and in terms of contributing to national issues on the floor of the Senate,so that we can build a virile and much more prosperous country.”

On his rumoured 2027 governorship ambition, he said, “I don’t think it is time for that now, we are still involved in trying to bring back the dividends of democracy to the people as senator elected for Ogun West.

“What we are to do today is to appreciate the Almighty God for his support in the past years and to also celebrate the new year with my people for their support and cooperation as well because they are the ones who put me in this office.

“So, in the future, we can start talking about that when the time is ripe to know if I am going forward or I am staying where I am, the future will determine all of that.”
