Tragedy hits Sokoto: SSG loses daughter, 3 grand children to fire disaster

Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government was early Monday morning hit by tragedy as he lost his daughter and 3 of her children to an inferno that consumed his residence.
The fire which broke out early Monday morning consumed the residence of the SSG while the family were sleeping.
However, the husband of the SSG’s daughter, Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello who is a Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Youth and Sports survived the inferno.
It was reported that operatives of the state fire service battled the inferno for many hours before they were able to overcome it.
It was gathered that the fire service operatives are still investigating the cause of the fire disaster. The incident , it was learnt, has thrown the Sokoto State government officials and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the state into mourning.
Reports indicate that Sokoto deputy Governor Eng Idris Mohammed Gobir led members of the state executive council, APC stalwarts on condolence visit to the SSG.
friends and well-wishers have been trooping to Sifawa for burial rites and condolence of the deceased.
The remains of the deceased housewife and her 3 children are slated for burial at Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque Sifawa at about midnight today at the family home of the SSG.
