Kano state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Salman Dogo Garba has urged the 272 newly promoted police officers in the Command to remain patriotic and show more dedication to duty as their new status comes with greater challenges.
The elated Kano police boss decorated the lucky officers with their new ranks at the Police Officers’ Mess on Monday.
He expressed joy that the mass promotion of police officers officers, being the highest in the history of the Command happened during his time.
CP Dogo expressed gratitude to God, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Inspector General of Police, for ensuring the promotion of such large number of police officers in his Command.
“I thank God, I thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I thank the chairman of Police Service Commission, I thank the Inspector General of Police, for providing the opportunity for the promotion of. 272 police officers of Kano Command.
” I am honoured. I praise the Almighty God for today. To the promotees, I must tell you that to whom much is given, much is expected. As you are moving ahead, your responsibilities are moving ahead. As your promotion is increasing, your responsibilities are increasing.
“To whom honour is given much is expected. I wish to remind you that, this is another challenges for you. I wish you more success in your endeavours,” he said.
The Kano Police boss further tasked the newly promoted officers to discharge their duties with sympathy to humanity and the fear of God.
Our Correspondent reports that the newly promoted police officers in Kano Command include four Chief Superintendents of Police promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police; 50 Superintendents of Police promoted to Chief Superintendents of Police; 32 Deputy Superintendents of Police promoted to Superintendents of Police; and 182 Assistant Superintendents of Police promoted to Deputy Superintendents of Police.
