Popular media personality and content creator GehGeh has caused controversy online with his views about modern relationships and marriage in Nigeria.

Speaking on a recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch podcast’, GehGeh claimed that Nigerian women now view relationships as a form of employment and advised men to reconsider marriage altogether.

According to GehGeh, marriage in the past was more favourable to men because women were primary providers, submitting to their husbands’ authority while contributing greatly to the household economy.

“Men should stop marrying because it’s a strategy women used to lure men into wasting their resources,” GehGeh said. “I am an Urhobo man. My dad got married because, in his era, it was women who worked for men. Then the man was the king with plenty of wives who worked for him while he handled authority and protection.”

He further criticized modern relationships, claiming, “I feel Nigerian women are the worst to date or marry because they date for money. They see relationships as a form of employment. They believe their partners have to pay their bills. I’m not ready for that.”
