Nigerian dancehall artiste Cynthia Morgan, now known as Madrina, has weighed in on industry dynamics following the public fallout between nightlife promoter Cubana Chief Priest and Afrobeat star Burna Boy.
In a social media post, Madrina shared a personal experience from 2018, when she was paid ₦1 million for a show, only to face false allegations later.
According to the singer, claims emerged that she had made advances toward the event organizers and was stalking them.
Drawing from her experience, Madrina urged her colleagues in the music industry to stop undervaluing their talents and accepting low fees for performances.
“Make artiste no dey collect beggy beggy show again. Na so Maleke beg me to pay me ₦1 million for show for 2018. They later say na I toast them, say I even dey stalk them. Crãzy world,” she wrote.
