Mabel, AY Makun reunite to celebrate daughter Ayomide’s 3rd birthday

Despite their estranged relationship, Mabel Makun has joined her husband, comedian and actor Ayo Makun, to celebrate their daughter Ayomide’s third birthday on January 16, 2025.

Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, took to Instagram to share adorable photos from Ayomide’s birthday shoot, expressing his deep affection for his daughter and how much he misses having her around.

Mabel also shared a tribute on her social media, thanking God for Ayomide’s presence in their lives. She wrote:
“Happy birthday God’s favorite, heaven’s shining star Ayomide MAKUN. We are super grateful to God almighty for honoring us with your presence in our lives.”

This joint celebration comes nearly two years after the couple announced the end of their nearly two-decade-long marriage. In April 2023, AY publicly confirmed the split, expressing regret over losing his home and admitting to compromises during their marriage. He urged the public to avoid spreading harmful narratives about his family, particularly for the sake of their teenage daughter, Michelle.

Mabel also addressed the separation, expressing her disappointment over the breakdown of her dreams for a lifelong marriage.

She appealed for privacy and refrained from addressing rumors, stating her commitment to honoring her children by not engaging in public rebuttals.

The couple’s public display of unity for Ayomide’s birthday showcases their commitment to co-parenting despite their differences.

In addition to his youngest daughter’s celebration, AY has previously shared moments of pride involving his elder daughter, Michelle Makun. In 2023, he shared a video of Michelle vlogging about the premiere of his movie The Waiter.
