Emmanuella Ropo, wife of Fuji music icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (popularly known as K1 or Kwam1), has shared an emotional tribute to mourn the death of her mother-in-law, Alhaja Halima Anifowoshe, who died at the age of 105.
The Fuji maestro had announced his mother’s death on Saturday, January 20, and in line with Islamic rites, she was laid to rest the same day, drawing a massive crowd of sympathizers.
Taking to her Instagram page, Emmanuella expressed her grief and paid glowing tribute to her late mother-in-law, describing her as a jewel and a true representation of a loving mother. She recounted the warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love she experienced from the late matriarch, noting how her presence reminded her of her own late mother.
In her note, Emmanuella prayed for her mother-in-law’s spirit to continue watching over her husband, Kwam1, providing protection and strength in his life. She wrote:
“I LOST A JEWEL. Erinwo, ajanoku sun bi oke… Maami, as I fondly call you, you displayed the true essence of a mother in LOVE towards me till your last breath. Your words of wisdom will keep me going and will be my guide through my journey of life. Unforgettable will be your warm embrace…Omo oniwo, iwo kotete wo sogan… Sun re oooo Maami, Omo’ba Alhaja Halimot Shadiya Anifowoshe.”
