Adeniyi Oluwaseun, the acting Head of the Audit Department at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, Ogun State, has tragically died by suicide.
He reportedly jumped into a well on Sunday evening in the Obantoko area of Abeokuta.
The incident has left his family, colleagues, and the hospital community in mourning.
Adeniyi, who had been battling mental health challenges and receiving treatment, is survived by two wives and three children.
The tragedy is particularly heart-wrenching as it occurred just weeks before the wedding of one of his children.
Confirming the incident, the hospital’s Head of Public Relations and Communication Unit, Segun Orisajo, expressed profound sadness.
“It is true that he committed suicide. It was an unfortunate incident. The management is deeply saddened by this development,” Orisajo said.
Describing Adeniyi as a diligent and loyal staff member, Orisajo noted that his untimely death came as a shock to everyone at FMC.
The hospital management extended its heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and the entire FMC community during this difficult time.
