Dead body of ‘unknown man’ recovered in Kano well

The Kano Fire Service has said remains of a yet to be identified man has been recovered from a well at Babawa Village in Gezawa local government area of the state.
Spokesperson for Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, announced this in a statement on Wednesday in Kano.
According to the statement, the Fire Service was alerted about the incident on Tuesday from police.
According to him,”We received an emergency call from Assistant Superintendent of Police, Kabiru Lawan of Gezawa police division at about 12:59p.m that a body of an unknown man is floating on top of well.
“We immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 01:25p.m.”
He said the community leaders and residents of the village claimed they did not know the victim.
Abdullahi said some personnel from the state fire service brought out the victim dead from the well and handed the corpse over to Assistant Superintendent of police, Kabiru Lawan for burial.
The Fire Service spokesman further disclosed that the cause of the incident is under investigation. NAN
