Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has publicly criticized Apostle Johnson Suleman, the president of Omega Fire Ministry, over his recent sermon on love.

During a church service, Apostle Suleman expressed disapproval of women who claim “love is a scam,” stating that they only make such claims when men don’t fulfill their desires.

He argued that women view men as customers and that the concept of love is not to be blamed for unmet expectations.

In response, Maduagwu took to the streets of Lagos in protest, questioning what a clergyman’s role is in discussing such matters. The actor, who had previously promoted a popular song titled “Love Na Scam” by Boiimanya, expressed surprise at the preacher’s remarks.

Maduagwu, in a passionate post, said, “Dear Apostle Suleman, what does Gospel teaching have to do with ‘Love Na Scam’? Many ladies have experienced hardship in relationships, and that’s why they say love is a scam. The way Nigerian men are treating women today, is it not understandable?”

Maduagwu’s protest stems from the growing frustrations many women face in relationships, a sentiment reflected in the widespread popularity of the song “Love Na Scam” in Nigeria.
