The Ogun State Government has promised to deal with the developers who break government seal on properties shut by the enforcement team of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

Acting General Manager of Ogun State Building Production Management Authority, Titilayo Oladogbon, stated this at Yewa South Local Government, Ilaro.

She expressed dissatisfaction in the activities of some violators who instead of regularising and applying for appeal for unsealing of the sealed properties, go back to break government seal and continue with the development.

She said the Authority had no other option but to engage  force which includes arrest order to deter the violators from proceeding with the illegal development.

“According to the Ogun State Building Production Management Regulations (OGBPMR), 2022, breaking of Government seal is a very serious offence. Violators of the regulations are liable to payment fines according to the degree of contravention,’’ she said.

Oladogbon therefore advised the public to approach the Authority with a notice of Commencement of construction seven days before commencement of any development in the State.

She maintained that the Authority would not relent in its efforts at ensuring properly supervised, safe and resilient buildings for sustainable communities with quality construction and development.
