Meranda officially moves into Lagos Assembly Speaker’s Office (Photos)

Mojisola Meranda officially moved into the office of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, on Monday.

Meranda who was  the former Deputy Speaker, was elected Speaker by her colleagues following the recent removal of Mudashiru Obasa her immediate  predecessor, who was accused of gross misconduct.

Meranda was warmly received  on Monday by her colleagues who were  entering the Speaker’s office with her.

Meanwhile,  Obasa who addressed his supporters and journalists had  claimed that he remained the Speaker as his removal was unconstitutional.

Security was beefed up at the Lagos Assembly on Monday, perhaps to check the crisis that could ensue if Obasa  made an attempt to assert himself as the Speaker.
