The Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has revealed that the Federal Government (FG) made N2.4 billion in 2024 from marriages conducted at Federal Marriage Registries.
The Federal Marriage Registries are under the Federal Ministry of Interior.
Speaking on Tuesday in Abuja during an interactive session with journalists, the minister also revealed that the Ministry generated over N3.2 billion from expatriate quota applications.
He added that there was a 150 percent increase in the revenue generated by the Ministry in 2024.
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo also said the FG through the Nigeria Immigration Service, deported
828 foreigners to their various countries in 2024.
However, he did not mention the offences committed by the deported foreigners.
