Southampton secured a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday, thanks to goals from Nigerian internationals Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu.

The match kicked off with a promising start for Southampton, who dominated the early proceedings.

In the 21st minute, Aribo put the visitors ahead with a brilliant first-time shot inside the box, sending the ball past Ipswich’s goalkeeper into the centre of the net. The goal gave Southampton a deserved 1-0 lead.

Ipswich fought back with determination, and their efforts paid off in the 31st minute when Liam Delap equalised for the hosts. After receiving a swift pass from a counter-attack, Delap weaved through Southampton’s defence to score a brilliant close-range goal, making it 1-1.

However, Southampton regained their advantage in the 87th minute. A rebound fell to Onuachu, who made no mistake in firing home from close range to seal the win for the Saints.
