Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has stirred reactions with a bold claim on social media, stating that any artiste who collaborates with him will win a Grammy.
His statement comes in the wake of the 67th Grammy Awards, where Nigerian singer Tems made history by securing her second Grammy.
In a viral video, Portable lamented being overlooked, insisting that he had the potential to claim a Grammy if given the opportunity.
“Olamide picked me and I came out from nowhere, nobody rise me, God is my pioneer,” he said. “I’m telling you, if not that you neglected me, I would have won a Grammy. Feature me if you want to collect Grammy, drop verse for me, I get chorus. Ordinary woman collected the Grammy from you people.”
He further emphasized his resilience, sharing the video with a caption: “Failure is not an option for me. I don’t have backup, I am the backup. That’s why I am working hard. I believe in my phone and sub. Any disappointment is a blessing.”
