NDLEA arrests grandpa over illicit drugs

75-year-old Nuhu Baba has been arrested by operatives of the Kano State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for allegedly dealing in illicit drugs.
Baba is accused of selling the illegal substances to youths in the state. He is said to have been operating in Kano for more than two years.
The command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Sadiq Muhammad-Maigatari, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Kano, said Baba had confessed that he was involved in the illegal trade in his community Tumbau Village, Gezawa Local Government Area, as a means of livelihood.
tThe statement said, “Baba’s case underscores the alarming reality of drug trafficking and abuse, which affects individuals across all demographics, including the elderly.
“This incident serves as a stark reminder of the pervasive nature of substance abuse within communities.”
