I had cause to pass through the Lekki-Epe Expressway recently. The journey was smooth and fast. The road construction has progressed steadily, bringing relief to the people of Eti-Osa and Lekki.
The contractor has demonstrated capacity and efficiency, especially in the area of traffic management and needless obstructions that cause traffic congestion. My findings show that it is the same contractor that handled the Epe-Ijebu-Ode Expressway, which is unarguably one of the best roads in the country.
I commend Governor Babajide Sanwoolu for his commitment to the project through proper funding and monitoring.
The project is now nearing completion, all things being equal, the next phase being that of proper maintenance.
I urge the Governor to revive all other projects that have been abandoned in Eti-Osa, Lekki, Epe axis, in order to bring development to the people. These projects include but are not limited to:
VGC connecting road
Fourth Mainland Bridge
Chevron-Lekki Link Road
Abandoned Roads within Lekki Phase 1
Lekki Airport
ETC
As other zones in the State are daily benefiting from critical infrastructure and developments, it is important to spread them equitably across the state given that a higher percentage of the revenue of the State come from the Eti-Osa/Lekki axis.
