The Ogun II Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded a significant revenue milestone, generating ₦4,000,335,323.53 in January 2025.

This represents a 104% increase compared to the ₦2,135,276,673.86 collected in the same period in 2024.

Announcing the achievement at a press briefing in Abeokuta on Thursday, the Command’s Comptroller, Ogun Customs, Olusola Bisi Alade, attributed the success to enhanced operational efficiency, professionalism, and commitment among officers.

“This milestone is a testament to the diligence and dedication of our officers who worked tirelessly to exceed expectations,” Alade stated.

He further highlighted the role of improved activities within the Free Trade Zones, including Ogun Guangdong, Ceplast, and Flour Mills Free Trade Zone, as well as the bonded terminal, in boosting revenue collection.

In a related development, the Customs uncovered four unauthorized factories operating without the necessary licenses and permits.

The affected companies—Evita Moore, Lekan Industries, Scarlet Eagle Ltd, and IBK Ventures—have since been placed under excise control and are undergoing formal registration.

Alade credited the Command’s achievements to effective collaboration within its leadership, as well as the contributions of key units such as the Monitoring Unit, Customs Intelligence Unit, and the Customs Police Unit.

He reaffirmed the NCS’s commitment to upholding transparency and enforcing compliance to sustain and improve revenue generation in the coming months.
