Former Nigerian Idol winner Kunle Ogunrombi, popularly known as K-Peace, has accused the show’s organizers of failing to pay his prize money and fulfill other rewards promised after his victory.

The Season 5 champion made the revelation during an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast with media personality Nedu Wazobia.

K-Peace, who won the Etisalat-sponsored 2015 edition of the reality music show, expressed his frustration over not receiving the N7.5 million cash prize, a brand-new car, and a two-week trip to Dubai—benefits that were publicly announced.

“I came outside of the Nigerian Idol platform with zero naira in my account,” he said in a now-viral video.

The singer recalled struggling after his win, often going for interviews without food, despite supposedly securing a multimillion-naira prize.

“They announced on national TV that I won N7.5 million with a brand-new car and a Dubai trip. But when I asked about the prize, they said they were still branding the car. I went through hell after winning the show,” he lamented.

Nigerian Idol is a popular talent show that has produced several music stars.
