Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Ikorodu City FC have confirmed the signing of highly rated teenage winger Oladimeji Kole Dada, as part of a major mid-season reinforcement aimed at bolstering the team’s attacking options for the remainder of the 2024/2025 campaign.
The 17-year-old, born on October 2, 2007, joins the ambitious Lagos-based outfit from Madiba FC, where he impressed with his pace, creativity, and attacking intelligence on the flanks. Before his time at Madiba FC, Dada honed his skills at Beyond Limit Football Academy, one of Nigeria’s leading youth development institutions. His performances at the grassroots level quickly earned him recognition as one of the most promising young wingers in the country.
Dada was among 12 new players unveiled by Ikorodu City FC in January as part of the club’s mid-season recruitment drive. The move reflects the team’s commitment to strengthening key positions as they continue their impressive run in what has been a competitive debut season in the NPFL.
Ikorodu City, popularly known as The Oga Boys, have drawn widespread attention since earning promotion to the topflight. Their fearless brand of football, youthful squad, and disciplined tactical approach have made them one of the most talked-about teams this season. Currently positioned among the league’s top contenders, the club is aiming to maintain its strong start and secure a respectable finish in their maiden NPFL campaign.
Speaking after completing his move, Dada expressed his excitement at joining the fast-rising club and his readiness to make an impact.
“Joining Ikorodu City is a huge step for me,” said Dada. “I’ve worked hard to reach this stage, and I’m ready to give my best and grow with this ambitious club. It’s a great opportunity to learn and prove myself at the top level.”
The winger’s arrival is expected to add youthful energy and creativity to Ikorodu City’s attack. Known for his acceleration, dribbling, and flair in one-on-one situations, Dada is tipped to become an important asset in the club’s push for consistency during the second half of the season.
Club officials have reiterated that the mid-season signings, including Dada, are part of a broader strategy to blend experience with youth development. “We are building for the present and the future,” an Ikorodu City official noted. “Our philosophy remains centered on giving talented young players the opportunity to express themselves at the highest level.”
With the NPFL campaign entering a crucial phase, Ikorodu City’s new additions are expected to provide depth and competition within the squad. For Dada, the move represents both a learning curve and a platform to showcase his potential on the biggest stage of Nigerian club football.
