Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has doubled down on his administration’s aggressive push for infrastructure transformation, revealing that 29 roads have been commissioned across Lagos State in just seven weeks.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Chief Yesufu Abiodun Oniru/Akiogun Road in Eti-Osa Local Government Area—an alternative route to the Admiralty Circle Plaza—Sanwo-Olu declared his unwavering commitment to delivering life-changing infrastructure.

“Earlier today, we handed over a road called Abudu Smith, also in Victoria Island, just a few kilometres away from here—a very, very strategic route within the confines of Femi Piers and Adeola Odeku,” Sanwo-Olu stated.

“This project is yet another milestone in our administration’s unwavering commitment to developing and delivering infrastructure that improves the quality of life of our citizens,” he added.

The governor highlighted the impact of these road projects, saying the alternative routes would “reduce travel time, cut congestion, and bring socio-economic benefits to residents.”

He also outlined his administration’s ambitious agenda to continue road rehabilitation efforts across key areas, including Badagry, Kosofe, Agege, and Alimosho.

“Since December, we have handed over roads in Kosofe, Ifako-Ijaiye, Eti-Osa, Iru-Obalende, Alimosho, Ikeja, and Amuwo. Now, we are back in Eti-Osa. By the grace of God, we will continue until every part of Lagos enjoys the dividends of democracy,” he assured.

Sanwo-Olu further revealed that 15 to 17 more roads were in various stages of completion, promising that his administration would leave “no one behind.”

“No matter your economic power or where you live in Lagos, we are committed to ensuring you benefit from these projects. That’s why we are working in Ibeju-Lekki, Badagry, and other areas to enhance the quality of life, reduce travel time, and improve Lagos’ livability,” he stressed.

The governor also likened the newly commissioned roads to “heavy connectivity roads” akin to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project championed by President Bola Tinubu.

Earlier, the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Engr. Olufemi Daramola, hailed the governor’s leadership, saying the Victoria Island regeneration aligned with Lagos’ vision for a world-class road network.

“Beyond reducing travel time and improving road safety, this project will boost property values and stimulate economic activities in this corridor,” Daramola noted.

With more roads set for completion, Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to push forward with Lagos’ infrastructural revolution, ensuring that residents across the state feel the impact of his government’s commitment to development.
