In a stunning display of cunning and deception, a cartel’s attempt to smuggle illicit drugs across the border was foiled by the vigilance and expertise of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

During a routine inspection, NDLEA officers became suspicious of a vehicle, which led to a more thorough search. Their diligence paid off when they discovered a specially constructed compartment hidden within the vehicle’s bumper.

This ingenious yet illicit compartment was designed to conceal the cartel’s nefarious cargo, allowing them to traffic drugs undetected.

The NDLEA’s discovery not only disrupted the cartel’s operations but also raised concerns about what other illicit substances they may have smuggled into Nigeria.

Speaking on the discovery on Sunday, NDLEA’s media aide, Femi Babafemi said: “how could anyone have imagined that you’ll need to remove a vehicle’s bumper to discover this specially constructed compartment in the belly of this bus solely for trafficking drugs across the borders? Who knows what they bring back into Nigeria? Another cartel taken down!”
