A total of 160 personnel of the Edo State Police Command have been retrained to enhance their operational capabilities to tackle security challenges and  rid the State of criminal activities.
Retraining of the operatives which was carried out in two batches, was directed by the  Edo State Commissioner of Police, Betty Otimenyin.
A statement on Sunday by the Command’s spokesman,  Moses Yamu, disclosed that area covered included VIP Escort; Ambush and Counter Ambush; Musketry; Combat Craft; Tactical Retrogression Movement; Search and Rescue.
“The Commissioner of Police today charged the personnel…to be vigilant, courageous in the swift response to security breaches, while upholding high professional standards devoid of harassment, intimidation and extortion,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Command has reassured all indigenes and residents of the State of its readiness to deliver improved effective and efficient service under her watch.
