Nigerian music executive and Tiwa Savage’s ex-husband, Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Teebillz, has publicly apologized to media personality Toke Makinwa for his past remarks against her.
In a message shared on social media, Teebillz admitted that he had acted out of character and jumped to conclusions, attributing his actions to his deep admiration for music legend 2Face Idibia and his wife, Annie Idibia.
“My sincere apologies, TM. I jumped the gun and goofed… I honestly acted out of character because of the unconditional love I have for Annie & King 2…! My action was based on expired knowledge and lack of understanding of the current occurrences… I hope you spare my ignorance,” he wrote.
Expressing his desire to mend fences, Teebillz also extended an invitation to Toke Makinwa for a private discussion to resolve their differences. He acknowledged that his actions mirrored the very behavior he had previously criticized her for.
“Hopefully, I get the chance to privately apologize to sort out our differences… My action was exactly what I accused you of. Hope you forgive my emotional incompetence,” he added.
He further emphasized the importance of setting a good example for his son, Jamil Balogun, stating, “Jamil can’t find out I disrespected one of her favorite aunties… What example am I setting!”
Teebillz’s apology comes weeks after he publicly criticized Toke Makinwa for commenting on the marital crisis between 2Face and Annie Idibia. At the time, he had taken to Instagram to share a photo with his ex-wife, Tiwa Savage, and their son, stressing the importance of keeping family matters private.
While addressing Makinwa, he had prayed for her to find love and motherhood, while also reminding her of how she previously spoke about his own marital issues. He had urged her to refrain from making comments about 2Face and Annie Idibia’s marriage.
