Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on residents to embrace peaceful coexistence, regardless of religious differences.
Speaking at the 2025 State House Special Ramadan Prayer, themed “My Lord, Indeed I Am, Whatever Good You Would Send Me, In Need”—drawn from Quran 28:24—Sanwo-Olu urged Muslim faithful to uphold the spirit of Ramadan and pray for lasting peace in the state.
Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to religious harmony, stating that Lagos remains a model for peaceful coexistence among diverse faiths.
He assured residents that his government would continue to create an inclusive environment where all religious groups couldthrive.

Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ibrahim Layode, also encouraged Muslims to avoid actions that could hinder the blessings of Ramadan while promoting tolerance and love among all citizens.
Prayers were offered for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sanwo-Olu and his family, Deputy Governor, State Executive Council, Speaker and lawmakers, Chief Judge, judiciary, Head of Service, public servants, and the people of Lagos.
The event’s highlight was the recitation of the Holy Quran in both Arabic and English.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos, Dr. Kadri Hamzat, dignitaries, Islamic scholars, and community leaders graced the occasion, underscoring the significance of collective prayers in fostering unity and development in the state.
