Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has hailed 2Face Idibia’s timeless hit “African Queen” as the greatest love song in Nigeria.
During a recent podcast discussion with fellow artiste Major AJ, Blaqbonez expressed his admiration for the legendary track, emphasizing that no other Nigerian love song compares to its impact and longevity.
“There is no song like 2Face’s African Queen,” Blaqbonez stated. “The song is the greatest love song in Nigeria. It was the greatest song for decades.”
Released in 2004, African Queen remains one of the most iconic love anthems in Nigerian music history. The song, featured on 2Face’s debut album Face 2 Face, not only gained local acclaim but also achieved international recognition. The music video starred Annie Idibia, who was the artiste’s girlfriend at the time and later became his wife, alongside actress Yvonne Jegede.
