Determined to empower the next generation through education, Abisola Omisore, a frontline aspirant in the Ikeja Local Government Chairmanship race under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting indigent students by funding their tuition fees.
As part of his annual education support initiative, Omisore distributed over 250 free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms to university hopefuls within Ikeja, ensuring they completed their registration process without difficulty.
The beneficiaries, selected from across the council, received assistance through his foundation, the Abisola Omisore Education Support Initiative (AOESI).
Speaking to journalists after personally overseeing the registration process, Omisore—popularly known as Omituntun among his supporters—emphasized that his dedication to youth empowerment predates his political aspirations.
“This is something I have done for years because I believe education is key to eradicating poverty. If elected as Chairman, I will expand this initiative to give the younger generation a stronger foundation to succeed,” he said.
Omisore also announced that the top three students with the highest UTME scores in 2025 would receive full academic scholarships under his program.
He stressed that his ultimate goal is to eliminate financial barriers to education and nurture a new generation of leaders equipped with the skills to drive national progress.
“I am passionate about investing in young minds, regardless of tribe or gender. If given the opportunity to lead Ikeja Local Government, residents can expect an administration that prioritizes quality education and youth empowerment,” he assured.
One of the beneficiaries, Abimbola Agbeniga, an aspiring Economics student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), described Omisore’s gesture as a life-changing opportunity.
“This initiative has lifted a huge financial burden off my shoulders. I am determined to excel in the UTME to qualify for the scholarship and make my parents proud,” she said.
Agbeniga further praised Omisore as one of the most vibrant youth leaders in Ikeja, noting his consistent efforts to support education and human development.
With this initiative, Omisore continues to position himself as a strong advocate for educational advancement in Ikeja, reinforcing his pledge to prioritize education if elected into office.
