In a sweeping crackdown on crime, the Katsina State Police Command has arrested 144 suspects linked to a staggering 128 criminal cases in February, dealing a heavy blow to criminal networks operating in the region.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abubakar Aliyu, revealed these shocking figures during a press briefing on Saturday, detailing the gravity of crimes tackled, including armed robbery, murder, kidnapping, and rape.

Among the dramatic successes recorded, police operatives neutralised four notorious bandits, stormed hideouts to rescue 105 kidnapped victims, and recovered 13 rustled animals from criminal gangs.

The offensive also led to the seizure of a deadly arsenal, including four locally made guns, 13 Pump Action cartridges, and five motorcycles—critical assets often used by criminals to terrorise communities.

“This is a strong message to criminals that Katsina State will not be a safe haven for their activities,” Aliyu declared.

“Our relentless operations underscore our commitment to crushing crime and ensuring the safety of all residents,” he added.

The police assured the public of their unwavering determination to sustain the momentum, urging communities to remain vigilant and support security efforts to rid Katsina of crime.
