Barcelona’s La Liga clash against Osasuna, scheduled for Saturday night, was abruptly postponed following the tragic death of the club’s first-team doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia.
The match, set to kick off at 20:00 GMT, was called off just minutes before start time as news of Garcia’s passing sent shockwaves through the club.
In an official statement, Barcelona expressed deep sorrow over the loss: “FC Barcelona is sorry to announce the sad news of the death of first team doctor Carles Minarro Garcia this Saturday afternoon.
“As a result, the game between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna has been postponed until a later date.
“The FC Barcelona Board of Directors and players wish to express their utmost sympathy to the family and friends of the deceased, and join them in mourning at such a difficult time.”
La Liga is expected to reschedule the fixture, but for now, Barcelona stands united in grief over the passing of a cherished member of their team.
