Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has stirred a conversation about the future of religious institutions, questioning what pastors would do if people stopped attending church in the next two years.

In a lengthy Instagram post, the veteran actress noted how religious divisions are growing within Christianity and traditional faiths.

Edochie noted that people’s beliefs and approaches to spirituality are evolving, affecting Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, traditional religions, and even atheism.

“Pastors, if people stop going to church in the next two years, what will be your job?” she asked.

She emphasized that many religious leaders rely solely on their ministries for income, warning that they could struggle if congregations dwindle. She pointed out that in some countries, religious leaders see their work as a sacred calling but still pursue other means of livelihood, advising others to do the same.
