President Bola Tinubu has announced key appointments in the education sector, naming Dr Mohammed Aminu as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).

Aminu, who holds a Ph.D. in Automobile Technology and a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, brings 28 years of expertise in teaching, administration, research, and policy development.

Until his appointment, he served as Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).

Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga stated that Tinubu expects Aminu to drive transformational leadership at NABTEB, ensuring the board continues to certify skilled professionals crucial for Nigeria’s industrial development.

In another key move, Tinubu appointed Mr Idris Olorunnimbe as Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board.

Olorunnimbe, known for his commitment to youth empowerment and education, is the Group CEO of The Temple Company, which he founded in 2016, pioneering initiatives in education, entertainment, and sports.

Additionally, the President named Mr Rasaq Olajuwon as UBEC’s Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical) and Mr Tunde Ajibulu as Deputy Executive Secretary (Services).

Olajuwon previously served as Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA).

Tinubu urged the new appointees to drive educational reforms and strengthen human capital development, ensuring broader access to quality basic education across Nigeria. (NAN)
