The Kano State Fire Service says it rescued seven persons and property worth N180 million from 77 fire incidents in February.
This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi on Thursday in Kano.
According to him, seven persons lost their lives while property worth N50 million were destroyed by fire during the period.
“The service responded to 11 emergency calls and three false alarms from residents of the state.”
He advised the public to handle fire with care, by ensuring that they turn off electrical appliances before leaving their homes.
He also urged motorists to drive with caution during festive season to avoid unforeseen circumstances.
