Darasimi, the wife of popular comedian Ijoba Lande, has publicly apologized following allegations of infidelity.
Speaking on the Talk to B podcast on Saturday, Dara, as she is popularly called, pleaded for forgiveness from her husband and Nigerians, admitting to making a mistake she deeply regrets.
“Ijoba Lande, don’t be upset with me. I’m also begging everybody that I have disappointed and Nigerians all over the world. This is not who I am, but I did not pray to make such a mistake again. And I will never walk close to it again. I beg you in the name of God, I’m so sorry, I’m very sorry,” she said.
Her apology comes after Nollywood actor Baba Tee and Mary Gold, who was both Ijoba Lande’s manager and Dara’s best friend, also begged for forgiveness.
The controversy erupted when Ijoba Lande publicly accused Baba Tee and other colleagues of having affairs with his wife. While Baba Tee initially denied the allegations, he later admitted to a brief encounter with Dara and issued his own public apology. Mary Gold also confessed to taking Dara to Baba Tee’s house, where the affair occurred.
