Operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have intercepted eight trucks conveying suspected illegal solid minerals in Katsina-ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
Dele Oyewale, spokesperson for the EFCC said in a statement on Friday that the eight trucks were arrested on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
According to him, the trucks were conveying solid minerals suspected to be fluorite and iron stones were recovered from the trucks.
“The minerals were mined from some illegal mining sites in the Logo Local Government Area of Benue State,” Oyewale said in the statement.
EFCC added that the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
