In the early hours of Saturday, Lagos residents awoke to the news of a chilling midnight arrest as police officers on routine patrol intercepted two armed men along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway.
The suspects, identified as 32-year-old Emmanuel Cletus and 27-year-old Adegor Joshua, were caught at approximately 4 a.m. at Sangotedo while lurking suspiciously in the area.
Upon searching them, officers discovered a semi-automatic pistol loaded with five rounds of live ammunition, raising concerns over what could have been a deadly mission.
Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated: “Officers of the Lagos State Police Command on morning patrol intercepted Emmanuel Cletus, aged 32, and Adegor Joshua, aged 27, at about 4 a.m. at Sangotedo along Lekki-Ajah Expressway. Recovered from them was a semi-automatic pistol and five rounds of live ammunition. Investigation is ongoing.”
