Absenteeism: Ebonyi governor suspends three commissioners

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has suspended three commissioners in his cabinet for one month for being  absent at State Executive Council meeting on Monday without being permitted to do so.

The affected commissioners include Solomon Azi, Grants and Donor Agencies; Victor Chukwu, Environment; and Ikeuwa Omebe Ministry of Rural Development.

The Commissioner of Information and State Orientation, Mr. Jude Okpor, who briefed journalists about the development, said Nwifuru directed that the suspended commissioners be relieved of all the privileges attached to their offices within the duration of the suspension.

Okpor also said the Governor warned all contactors handling government projects to make sure they deliver them in line with contractual agreements. He said those who would default should expect the government to use all legal means to enforce compliance.
